poole in the second world war
a brief history of what is still there to this day
Pill boxes
Pill boxes are some of the most common things associated with the second world war. They are relatively small, heavy and a right pain to get rid of! For that reason many are still around today. On the four pages below I have tried to document all of them in my area, which is a square the corners being Kimmeridge, Blandford, Fordingbridge and Milford on sea. They are mainly type 22 with a few type 24 and 25 here and there. I hope this list to be complete, but I am sure that I have missed a few. If you know of a pill box that is not on my list then please email me at Pooleinthesecondworldwar@outlook.com I would be very pleased to hear from you.
